Coach Carmen

Coach Carmen loves working with beginners.  She offers a Racewalk 101 course that covers all the basics.  She also works with many Portland to Coast teams throughout the summer on the east side, west side and Vancouver area.  As a Level 1 USATF coach and a competitor since 1986, she uses her experience to encourage walkers of all ages reach their potential.  You can contact Carmen at:  racewalkcoach@gmail.com or 503-349-7704

Coach Rob

Coach Rob Frank qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1976 and never slowed down.  He was an all-American in college & won the National Masters 1 hour Postal three times.  As the track coach for Banks High School for the last 35 years, Rob does a great job working with youth athletes, but also helps Masters racewalkers hone their skills.  Rob offers a track practice on the west side of Portland during the summer months, with a focus on speed work.  To contact Rob, email him at:

Coach Jim

Jim Bean coaches in the Salem area and commutes to the club’s Duniway track practice each month for group training.  He also works with a group of Elite walkers training for National-level competition.  As the current Racewalk Chair for the Oregon Association of USATF, Jim has coached several walkers who competed in the 2011 USATF National 50K Championship the 2008 Olympic Trials.  He also coaches youth walkers.  Contact Jim at:
