Racewalkers Northwest was founded in 1993 by John Hanan II. We are dedicated to physical fitness through safe, systematic training and mental fitness through competition. Our club members represent all ages and racewalking abilities. Check us out - join us for one of our weekly club walks. We welcome new members!
Our membership year runs from January 1 - December 31, and is a deal at $25! Your membership includes a weekly e-mail newsletter, access to a Members Only web page, and notification of all club events. Members can purchase entry to all 4 club races for an additional 25! RWNW Top O' Tabor 3K To Be Rescheduled: The Top O' Tabor 3K on March 3 will be rescheduled due to the Oregon Association 5K Racewalk Championship. More information coming soon!
New Vancouver Club Walk Added! Another Third Saturday option has been added to the RWNW Club Walk schedule! Check out the "Walk-Race-Volunteer" page for information. Congratulations to RWNW Member Katie Grimes, 2nd Woman Overall in USATF 50K Women's and Masters Championships! Katie took second in the event, and broke a couple of records along the way! Karen Karavanic took first in the Women's 5K. RWNW was well-represented - Karen and Conrad Williamson provided aid to racers, and Marie VerMeer was an official. Link to results:

Congratulations to 2012 RWNW Officers! Officers were elected at the RWNW Meeting in November. Congratulations to new President Rob Frank and Vice President Jill Bolm. Thanks to Anne Whitaker and Les Shields who are staying on as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. You'll be hearing much more from our new officers and other volunteers shortly - photos and contact information will also be updated soon!

Meet the RWNW Officers 2011 (2012 Info Coming Soon!)
President Carmen Jackinsky began racewalking in 1986 and is a charter member of RWNW. She loves to compete, coach and cobble shoes. Carmen owns ReShod Walking Shoes, a brand that caters to walkers of all types. Vice President Rob Frank is the head track coach for Banks HS. He qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1976 and has never lost his ability to speed! Treasurer Les Shields and his wife (not pictured) joined the club in 2003 and enjoy staying in shape by attending group walks and racing throughout the year. Secretary Anne Whitaker is also a charter member of RWNW. She began racewalking in 1990, won two gold medals at the Nike World Master Games and raced at the WAVA Championships in Gateshead, England, as well as five National Masters Championships. She's a Certified Racewalk Official and keeps members connected with club and worldwide racewalking activities through the weekly RWNW Highlights.
